After the health professionals finish their lifesaving work, Jodi House is there to support brain injury survivors on their journey of healing and reintegration. Since 1982, Jodi House has been dedicated to providing long-term supportive services to the Santa Barbara brain injury community, their families, and caregivers.
Jodi House is a nonprofit, community-based program. Jodi House is not a clinic, facility, or institution. It has members rather than clients or patients. Members, volunteers, and staff work collaboratively on program development and operations. Membership is open to brain-injured adults who meet membership criteria. To the greatest extent possible, Jodi House is run by, and for, members.
Jodi House provides opportunities to rebuild communication and social skills, make new friends and build support networks, and develop independent living skills through a comprehensive offering of classes, workshops, outings, peer-to-peer support activities, and individual coaching and counseling. Members participate in house operations according to their abilities.
Jodi House is also there for family, friends, and caregivers in the form of advice, referrals, or, simply, someone to listen. Jodi House serves North County through its Solvang support group.
